The village of Vraclav, located near Vysoké Mýto, was first recorded in history at the beginning of the 12th century. In 1108, the ancient Vršov family was massacred by the rival Přemyslids at the Vraclav fortress. This tragic event is commemorated today by a monument from 1908.
However, the fame of Vraclav, which persists to this day, is mainly due to the Baroque period. The important pilgrimage site was built around a healing spring, near which a spa, a hermitage and the Church of St. Nicholas were gradually built in the early 18th century. These monuments can still be seen in Vraclav today. Inside the church you will find a set of rare wooden sculptures that were originally part of the pilgrimage route from Králíky to the Mount of the Mother of God on Hedč. The spa building hosts seasonal exhibitions with Baroque themes.
