In 2007, on the Castle Nové Hrady grounds the First Czech Museum of Cycling was opened in the newly reconstructed building of the Baroque grange. The development of cycling is documented here in tens of exhibitions, from the oldest velocipedes to race specialities.
On the ground floor of the museum you will find classic velocipedes from Austro-Hungarian times, then interesting expositions from the period of both World Wars and a look into bicycle shops and repair shops. Racing cycles are located on the next floor. Exhibitions also include road, cross and specially made bicycles for races. Specialties include bicycles that appeared in well-known Czech films and TV series. On the last floor you can take a seat in the audience of the chamber theatre and watch a projection on the history of cycling. For the more daring type, you can take advantage of the opportunity to try riding a velocipede.
