Industrial museum and narrow gauge railway in Mladějov
The industrial railway of Mladějov came to existence at the end of the First World War. It was used to transport extracted materials from the mines of Hřebeč to be processed in the local factory until 1991. Steam locomotives which used to race around the local narrow-gauge railway will be acquainted to you in the local industrial museum. You will also see exhibits of road, construction and agricultural machinery. Many of them are truly unique and rank among the last specimens of their kind. A train pulled by a steam locomotive will then take you from the museum premises to the former mines of Hřebeč on an eleven-kilometer-long narrow-gauge track.
You will explore the surroundings of the museum and the narrow-gauge railway thanks to dozens of kilometers of Hřebeč Mining Trails which will take you to the portals of former mines as well as to beautiful nature. The trails also offer impressive views of the surrounding countryside. You can hike or cycle to the lookout tower on Strážný vrch (Guarding Hill), the observation platform Nad Doly (Over the Mines) or to rest or lookout gazebos.
